IT’S OFFICIAL. I’M IN LOVE WITH JASON WU. The Jason Wu A/W ‘11 Collection graced the runways last Friday at the New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2011.
If his name doesn’t ring a bell, Jason Wu is one of Michelle Obama’s favourite designers. Elegance. Timeless Appeal. Polished. What more could a girl want? Ok, I admit, everyone has their own personal style so this may not be everyone’s cup of tea. But personally, I love, love, love classics.
Here are a few of the looks I’ve fallen in love with:

The intricate details and feminine silhouette are well suited to evening wear; and the mature and decadent colour palette makes it all the more divine.
It’s rather paradoxical but I think Jason Wu has managed to deliver us something subtle yet bold.
IT’S BEEN AWFULLY QUIET ON THIS BLOG OF MINE. Lately, I’ve been über busy, and subsequently, very slack with my posting. Whilst I am very tempted to ramble, I think I’ll just keep this short and sweet for now.

In late January, I commenced my fashion internship with Manikinn, an Australian high street women’s fashion label. It has been an interesting few weeks, with the Grand Opening Week a great success.
If you’re in Perth, stop by for your fashion fix. See below for all the info you need… so no excuses!

I also wrote an article titled Play Dress Up with Manikinn which is featured in Emergent Fashion Haus, and can be viewed here.
Sshhh! Here’s a bit of insider information for you… There are exciting initiatives in the works at the Manikinn office, so be sure to watch this space! ;-)
2011 is the Year of the Rabbit. So what better day to have a fashion flashback of the bunny ear headbands big in 2009? A micro trend which melded the elegance of high fashion and the sexiness of a vintage playboy bunny.
Here are a few of my favourite images for you to enjoy:

Hope you all have a lovely start to the New Year. I know I will! Now off to enjoy the perks of youth and spend some of the money I received from those red envelopes…
CREATIVE DIRECTOR, FASHION DESIGNER, FILM DIRECTOR… and fashion stylist? Tom Ford is a talented man, to say the least.
Here is a little peek at his recent styling efforts for the March issue of Elle featuring the gorgeous Keira Knightley, photographed by Terry Tsiolis.
I love how it is simple and elegant. Whilst there are no “bells and whistles”, it is the mark of a truly talented stylist to exercise restraint and allow the garments to speak for themselves.
Remember that there’s no need to go crazy with accessories for your own outfits to make a statement. Sometimes it really is less is more.
PRETTY, PRETTY SHOES FOR A MERE $15 A PAIR? I kid you not! Scoring some quality shoes at a ridiculously low price is not just the stuff of dreams. It can be your reality if you head down to Vangoh Shoes this weekend (hurry!).
Located in Subiaco, the lovely shoe boutique is having a Summer Final Clearance – one pair for $20 or two pairs for $30.
Despite the weather a scorching 39⁰C today, this sale was reason enough for any shoe lover to brave the heat. I have never been one to turn down a good sale, so took the bus and train into Subiaco this afternoon.
My efforts were most definitely rewarded and upon entering the store, was greeted with a wide selection of sale items. It was simply impossible for me to settle with just one pair; I ended up purchasing six!
LIMA SNAKESKIN POINTED TOE PUMPS (originally $98.95)

Snakeskin is a personal favourite of mine. The pattern makes a bold statement, but is neutral enough to pair with most pieces in my wardrobe. Pointed toes are also very big at the moment.
SHANGHAI POINTED TOE PUMPS (originally $83.95)

I was drawn towards the pair in patent brown, they’re neutral and a little different to the standard black heels in my shoe collection. I think I’ll pop in tomorrow to buy it in patent black as well… What can I say, I’m a girl that loves a classic.
LA PAZ SUEDE HEELS (originally $109.95)

I’ve been on the hunt for some grey heels ever since I wore down an old favourite of mine. Big fan of the straps on these ones.
ATHENS GLADIATOR FLATS (originally $69.95)

MEXICANA GLADIATOR FLATS (originally $69.95)

I also bought a cute pair of ballet flats in brown, but I couldn’t find any photos to show you. All my new flat shoes will be perfect for those massive shopping sessions or long walks on uni campus. My feet will definitely thank me!
So what are you waiting for? Head down there this weekend and treat yourself to some feel good shoes. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
P.S. The great thing about shopping at Vangoh Shoes is that there is absolutely no pressure to buy. Besides, with the gorgeous shoes you’ll find in store, you won’t need any convincing… ;-)
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY! As I write this, January 26 is reaching its end here in Perth, so I hope all of you had a lovely day of festivities.
Today, as many people across the nation celebrated with a barbecued feast, or as the cultural cliché would have it, throwing another shrimp on the barbie… I thought back to the 2010 Spring Lamb marketing campaign by Meat & Livestock Australia.
It is the ultimate collision of fashion and food with Henry Roth (host of Project Runway) as the spokesperson for the campaign. The commercial pokes a bit of fun of the fashion industry with fashionably garnished models walking down the runway.

How yummy is this? To view the video commercial, click here.
